MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL LAMBANG BILANGAN MELALUI PENGGUNAAN KARTU ANGKA DAN KARTU GAMBAR PADA ANAK USIA DINI

Abstract

This research is motivated by the ability of children to recognize number symbols which has not yet developed optimally because kindergarten children cannot think abstractly but they think concretely. Aim of this research is to improve children's ability to recognize number symbols through use of number cards and picture cards in early childhood. Data collection methods used are observation and documentation. Subjects in this research were 9 children from group A PAUD Al-Banna Mataram. Results of this research showed an increase in the ability to recognize number symbols in group A PAUD Al-Banna Mataram, namely in the first cycle there were 4 children who met the criteria for starting to develop (MB) and 5 children received the criteria for not yet developing (BB), increasing in cycle II, 6 children received the criteria for developing very well (BSB) and 3 children received the criteria for developing as expected (BSH). Results of the implementation of learning to play number cards and picture cards where the first cycle obtained a total score of 58 with an average percentage reaching 60.4% and increased in the second cycle with a total score of 91 with an average percentage reaching 94.7%. Results were said to be successful because they had exceeded the indicators success is 80%. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the application of the method of playing number cards and picture cards can improve the ability to recognize number symbols for children in group A PAUD Al-Banna Mataram.
