Abstract

Self-confidence is a positive attitude that must be possessed by humans in meeting various needs in the environment or situation they face and can believe in their own abilities which aim for their own happiness. This study aims to determine the effect of giving rewards on increasing the self-confidence of children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri Pembina Pemenang in the 2023/2024 school year. This study uses a quantitative method of Quasi-experiment Design with Nonequivalent Countrol Group Design. In this study, samples were taken using nonprobability sampling involving 24 children aged 5-6 years at TK Negeri Pembina Pemenang, consisting of 14 boys and 10 girls. The results of data analysis show that t count is greater than t table 19.707 > 1.717, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So in this study it can be said that the hypothesis can be accepted. Thus it is concluded that there is an effect of giving rewards on increasing children's self-confidence which can be seen in the data on the results of children's self-confidence in the experimental group after being given the treatment of giving rewards higher than before being given the treatment of giving rewards. It is hoped that educators can appreciate by giving rewards so that children who have less self-confidence can feel comfortable while at school and outside school.
