Abstract

This study aims to analyze literacy and numeracy questions that are used to measure the ability of elementary school students with the importance of assessment in a particular lesson in the context of global warming in elementary schools using the RASCH modeling. Most elementary schools carry out the assessment process in a classical way. Assessments are generally carried out only with the aim of obtaining results for the number of students answering the questions given but not being able to know the level of ease and difficulty of the items, the validity of the questions, the level of ability and reliability of the students working on the questions. Thus, this becomes a problem that needs to be analyzed. The analysis was carried out to determine the quality of the numeracy literacy questions that had been made and to measure the abilities of students working on these questions. This test was carried out by distributing 15 multiple choice questions in the context of global warming to 20 students at one of the State Elementary Schools in Tasikmalaya City. The results obtained were then analyzed using RASCH modeling using the Winstep application. The results of this analysis show that out of 15 questions there are two questions in the difficult category, eight questions in the moderate category, and one question in the very easy category. In addition, the analysis also found the level of ability of students who were respondents in this study, when there were three students who were in the low ability category, twelve students with moderate abilities, and no high ability students were found.
