Abstract

Based on observations made in class IV-B SDN Purwantoro 1 Malang, there are deficiencies in science learning. That is, the teacher delivers material on artificial vegetative propagation using the lecture method. Pre-action results showed that only 10 out of 28 students scored above the minimum completeness criteria. This study aims to explain the application of the Project Based Learning Model and improve learning outcomes. The research applies two cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The results of the research with the Project Based Learning Model in science learning material on artificial vegetative propagation went well. Teacher activity in applying the Project based learning model in cycle I reached 67.15% and increased in cycle II to get a percentage of 98% with very good criteria. The percentage of classical completeness obtained in cycle I was 66.67% with less improved criteria and got a classical completeness percentage of 89.74% with very good category in cycle II. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the Project Based Learning Model can improve student learning outcomes in the mathematics subject matter of recognizing flat shapes for class I students at SDN Purwantoro 1 Malang.
