UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA SISWA DALAM BAHASA INGGRIS MENGGUNAKAN METODE STORYTELLING SISWA KELAS II SD MADAENG 1 SIDOARJO

English is an international language so as modern times develop, students need to understand and learn English. The aspect that will be carried out in this research is students' reading ability in English lessons. This research was conducted at SDN Medaeng 1 class because I saw students who were less active during the learning process, besides that students could not read English vocabulary correctly, therefore this research aims to improve students' English reading skills using the storytelling method at SDN. Medaeng 1 Sidoarjo. This research uses the classroom action method (PTK), which is carried out in 2 research cycles. The data collection method is carried out by observation, making a comparison between the test results of cycle 1 and cycle 2, after that we reflect on determining the research results to determine student improvement. using the storytelling method. The research results showed that there was an increase in students' reading skills using storytelling. This can be proven by the pre-test results in the very low category 3%, low 67%, high 10% and very high 0%. In cycle 1, the high category was 33% and very high 37%. Meanwhile in cycle 2 the high category was 13% and very high 80% and this value had reached the indicators that had been set so that the storytelling method could improve the reading skills of students at SDN Medaneg 1 Sidoarjo.Downloads
