This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing students' motor skills, attitudes, and their desire to learn Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PESH) due to low student engagement and motivation. A quasi-experimental design was utilized with a pretest-posttest control group method. The research sample consisted of 36 students from grade 10 of SMAN 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group of eighteen students and a control group of eighteen students. Purposive sampling method was used to select the sample. Data on attitudes and motivation were obtained through questionnaires, while motor skills data were collected through physical tests. Student participation was also observed during the learning process. T-tests were used to analyze the data to compare pretest and posttest results between the experimental and control groups. The results of the study indicated that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in motor skills (13.2 points), attitudes (0.9 points), and motivation (0.9 points) compared to the control group. This research reveals that the implementation of PBL in PESH is effective in enhancing various aspects of student learning. In conclusion, the application of PBL can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of PESH learning, thus educators are advised to consider this model in their curriculum.Downloads
