Abstract

The implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka has been running for the third year. There are still many problems in its implementation. The aim of this research is to find out the problems experienced by a driving school of Elementary School in Palembang in implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka and the solutions they created. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research wants to describe the problems experienced and what solutions that the school has made. Data collection methods are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Observations were carried out at SD Xaverius 1 Palembang which has been appointed by the government as one of the driving schools in Palembang. Interviews were conducted with the educators and school principals. From the interviews it was found that there were many problems faced by SD Xaverius 1 Palembang. These problems were analyzed through a coding process so that the main problem was found, namely Human Resouses’ readiness such as mastery of technology, understanding of the independent curriculum, networking, and mastery of assessment. Meanwhile, the solution created by the school is to develop the abilities of educators through training, brainstorming, workshops, seminars, building networking and collaboration between educators. In conclusion, the main problem in implementing the independent curriculum is human resource readiness. Therefore, continuous socialization and training is needed to properly understand and implement the Kurikulum Medeka optimally.
