Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of grade IV students at SDN Purworejo in science learning. The purpose of this research is to describe the application of the PBL model to science learning materials for building a civilized society in class IV SDN Purworejo and to describe the improvement of critical thinking skills by applying the PBL model assisted by interactive e-books for fourth grade students at SDN Purworejo Magetan. The research method used in the research is collaborative classroom action research. This study uses the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which consist of 2 cycles, where each cycle consists of 4 stages namely. This research was conducted at SDN Purworejo Magetan. The subjects in this study were 12 class IV students at SDN Purworejo. The data in the research were obtained through observation and tests. Data analysis in this study used descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The results of this study indicate that using the PBL model assisted by interactive e-books can improve the thinking skills of fourth grade students at SDN Purworejo. II with an average gain of 82.42%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that using the PBL model assisted by Interactive E-book media can improve the critical thinking skills of students of grade IV SDN Purworejo Magetan.
