Abstract

This research aims to determine the existence of a positive relationship between interest in reading and short story writing skills. The sample in this study consisted of 24 students, consisting of 12 male students and 12 female students. The instruments used to measure reading interest and short story writing skills are in the form of questionnaires and tests. This research uses quantitative research with a correlation method. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is no positive relationship between interest in reading and short story writing skills. Interest in reading with weak short story writing skills. Because students are better at writing short stories than they are at reading.
