Misconceptions among students are found in the place value material of numbers. Many things cause student misconceptions in the material place value of numbers, such as the condition of the students themselves who do not understand the concept of place value. So this can lead to a lack of understanding of concepts caused by students' mistakes, such as errors in writing and pronouncing. This conceptual error is not in accordance with the actual procedure which will result in misconceptions among the students themselves. Place value is a fundamental concept in learning numeracy. This research is a qualitative descriptive study which aims to describe the types of misconceptions and causes of fourth grade students' misconceptions regarding the place value of numbers. Students have misconceptions caused by several aspects, such as the condition of the students, teachers, methods, books, and context.Downloads
