Abstract

Teacher competence in the learning process at Sidomulyo State Elementary School is still not optimal, both in planning learning, implementing learning, and assessing learning outcomes. This research aims to improve teacher competence in the learning process in elementary schools through the implementation of academic supervision. This research uses a qualitative research approach. The subjects in this research were teachers of grades 1 - 6 at Sidomulyo State Elementary School. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The instrument used is an observation sheet including pre-learning observation, learning observation, post-learning observation, and follow-up plans. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the principal's efforts to increase teacher competency in learning through academic supervision can be said to be successful. This is proven from the research results that teacher competency has increased after the principal's reflection on learning in the form of academic supervision with pre-observation stages, observation, post-observation, and follow-up plans. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the efforts made by the principal to improve teacher competence in the learning process at Sidomulyo State Elementary School can be said to be successful as proven by the results of the analysis of teacher activities in academic supervision activities through the stages of pre-observation, learning observation, and post-observation. , and follow-up plans have increased overall compared to before the implementation of academic supervision activities.
