PENERAPAN MODEL GENERATIF BERBANTUAN CLASSPOINT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA DI SD

Abstract

This research is classroom action research by applying a generative learning model assisted by ClassPoint which is motivated by students' low critical thinking skills in science learning at SDN Karangmadu. This ability is included in the scientific process in the nature of science. However, in the learning process, there are students who have not been able to master critical thinking skills because the learning models used have not varied, and the lack of use of learning media. Based on observation activities that have been carried out in class V of SDN Karangmadu in science learning, it was found that there is a lack of involving indicators of critical thinking skills during the learning process. In addition, it is evidenced by the results of the initial test conducted where the average student score is less than the Minimum Completion Criterion, which is 72. This study aims to improve (1) students' critical thinking skills, (2) teacher and student activities. The research method used is classroom action research with Kemmis and Taggart designs. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. The instruments used are test assessment sheets, student and teacher observation sheets. The results of obtaining scores during the action showed an increase from each meeting in each cycle. The results showed that (1) the increase in classical completeness in students' critical thinking skills from pre-cycle by 56.52% (low), cycle I by 78.26% (medium) to 86.73% (high) in cycle II. (2) an increase in teacher and student activities from cycle I in the good category to very good in cycle II. Thus, researchers concluded that the ClassPoint-assisted generative model can be an alternative learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills in science learning in elementary school.
