Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Card Sort Learning Model on student learning outcomes in the Science subject at UPTD SD NEGERI 125543 Pematang Siantar. This quantitative research used a classroom action research procedure. The subjects of this study were students from grade 5 at UPTD SD NEGERI 125543 Pematang Siantar, consisting of 21 students, including 14 boys and 7 girls. This study was motivated by the low interest and learning outcomes of students in the Science subject, as well as the desire to increase student involvement in learning. The Card Sort model was chosen as a strategy to improve student interaction and understanding of the material. Data collection techniques through learning outcome tests, observations, and documentation were used to measure student responses to this model. The percentage of learning completeness in the first cycle was 57.14% and increased to 90.47% in the second cycle. From this research, it can be concluded that the application of the Card Sort Learning Model is effective in improving students' Science learning outcomes, and can be used as an alternative innovative learning model in elementary schools.
