Abstract

Many students feel afraid and embarrassed to answer questions given by educators in science subjects and students also rarely or almost never try to express their opinions. This happens because the learning method used is usually the lecture method and sometimes this is not appropriate to the material being taught. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of the talking stick learning model on science learning outcomes in class IV students. This research design is an experimental type with a one group pretest - posttest design. The population is all 20 class V students consisting of 13 male students and 10 female students. This research was carried out at SD Negeri 091254 BATU ONOM. The sample in this study was taken using a saturated sampling technique of 23 respondents. The data was collected using a questionnaire instrument and analyzed using a one sample t test, so this shows that there are differences in student learning outcomes in working on science questions before and after using the talking stick model.
