Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and its impact on first-grade students’ learning motivation in Pancasila education. A qualitative case study design was employed to investigate the implementation of CRT in a first-grade class at SDN Panaragan 1, Bogor City. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings revealed that the implementation of CRT significantly influenced students’ learning motivation. Students were more engaged, actively participated in class discussions, and demonstrated a deeper understanding of Pancasila concepts. Additionally, CRT fostered positive attitudes toward Pancasila values, enhanced empathy, and promoted positive social behavior among students. However, the study also identified challenges in implementing CRT, such as limited resources and time constraints. These findings suggest that CRT is a promising approach to enhance students’ motivation and understanding of Pancasila. To optimize the implementation of CRT, it is recommended to provide adequate training for teachers, develop culturally relevant teaching materials, and involve parents in supporting the learning process.
