Abstract

Reading is one of the main keys in improving human resources. Literacy empowerment can be optimized through school literacy movements. The low level of literacy culture is a challenge for every school. Procurement of library materials or reading sources is one of the obstacles in implementing a literacy culture. This implementation was experienced by students at SDN 1 Gelampar. The purpose of this writing is to find out how literacy culture is implemented. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The results of this research obtained data regarding the application of literacy culture in the form of 3 stages, namely: Habituation stages, development stages, and learning stages regarding the application of literacy culture and inhibiting factors, namely from students, and the implementation of the literacy movement itself.
