Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve learning outcomes in grade VI science learning at SD Negeri Brosot Kapanewon Galur, Kulon Progo district by using the Cooperative Learning Type STAD learning model. Observation findings show that low science learning outcomes are still caused by students' lack of active participation in their education. Collaborating with colleagues, this research is an example of classroom action research (PTK). The research model was modified for a research design consisting of two cycles. The research stages consist of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were twenty-eight sixth grade students. The learning outcomes of science education using the STAD tipe cooperative learning model are used as research objects. Tests and observations are the methods used in data collection. Three data analysis methods were used, namely descriptive, quantitative and qualitative. The findings of this research show how scientific learning outcomes can be improved by incorporating the STAD tipe cooperative learning paradigm into electrical energy material. Based on science learning results, the percentage of students who obtained the KKM increased from 54% in the pre-cycle to 73% in the first cycle and 95% in the second cycle.
