Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of School’s Literacy Movement at school and determine the supporting and inhibiting factors for implementing it on fourth grade students' reading interest in elementary school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this research were fourth class teachers and fourth class students at SD Negeri 2 Aglik with 13 students. Research data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The result of the research show that the literacy movement at SD Negeri 2 Aglik, including the use of reading corners, madding class, and library visits, can increase interest in reading. Supporting factors in implementing School’s Literacy Movement are school facilities such as reading corners, madding class, libraries, and human resources from teachers. Inhibiting factor interest in reading in School’s Literacy Movement include the lack of variety in the types of books available in the reading corner, lack of collaboration with parents, time discipline, and the absence of special staff in managing the library.
