ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN LITERASI MATEMATIS DALAM PERSPEKTIF GENDER SISWA SMP

Mathematical literacy is an individual’s capacity to formulate, employ, and interpret mathematics in a variety of contexts. The purpose of this study was to describe mathematical literacy skills in the perspective of gender of junior high school students. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, namely research that displays an assessment procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or oral words. This research examined 3 female subjects and 3 male subjects, namely class VIII students at SMPN 1 PUJUT. The data collection techniques in this study are using mathematical literacy test and interviews that have been approved by 2 validators. Data were analyzed by processing data from two sources, namely data from the mathematical literacy test results and interview data. Both data were then triangulated so that later it would show students' mathematical literacy skills. Based on the results of research conducted at SMP Negeri 1 PUJUT class VIII, it shows that female students' mathematical literacy skills are better than male students' mathematical literacy skills. (1) Male students' mathematical literacy skills are only able to solve test questions at low levels (level 1 and 2). (2) While female students were able to solve the test questions up to the medium level (level 4) and also the high level (level 5).Downloads
