Curriculum development in order to improve character education in elementary schools is very important to do. The purpose of this study was to find out how curriculum development improves the implementation of character education, find out what activities are contained in the curriculum that support the implementation of improving character education, and find out what factors support and hinder the improvement of character education through curriculum development at SD Negeri Nyamplung . This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that developing a curriculum to improve character education at SD Negeri Nyamplung is implementing it in all school activities. Factors supporting curriculum development in schools are all teaching and educational staff at SD Negeri Nyamplung, student guardians, school committees and local residents who always help participate both directly and indirectly in improving student character education, while the inhibiting factor is outside influences. namely the student environment which is the border area of ​​cities and villages, many boarding houses, and immigrants which makes students sometimes confused in choosing actions that are in accordance with national character and those that are not.
