Abstract

The importance of instilling children's character especially during learning and developing children's motivation in learning through traditional games which are increasingly disappearing. Through the game engklek students can be motivated and bring up good characters in learning Pkn. The method that will be used in this research is a qualitative method. The data sources used in this study include interviews, observations, documentation with several fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Semoya as many as 38 students. Each individual child will benefit from the process of playing, including physical skills that are increasingly honed, increased creativity, positive personality, and all aspects of the child will experience development. Besides preserving culture, the game can also build student character. Through this game, students are more motivated in learning Pkn. Students care more about others and their surroundings.
