Abstract

Intolerant attitudes still occur in the school environment, this may be due to a lackof learning infrastructure or the role of teachers in overcoming students' intolerantproblems. Therefore, this is the focus of the research is the role of religious andcharacter education teachers as educators, advisors and mentors in instilling thecharacter of tolerance and the character of religious tolerance in students atPenerus Bangsa Elementary School. The research method used is descriptivequalitative research, namely the researcher describes what it is without engineering.In this research, the researcher presents the research results in a descriptivequalitative manner, namely the data collected is in the form of words, images andnot numbers. The results of the research obtained are that the role of teachers aseducators is very crucial in shaping students' understanding and character. The roleof teachers as educators in instilling religious tolerance is very important to forminclusive attitudes among students at Penerus Bangsa Elementary School. Apartfrom that, students at Penerus Bangsa Elementary School have the character ofreligious tolerance, showing an open and respectful attitude towards various beliefs.They are able to communicate well. Teachers carry out regular training on how toapply the values of religious tolerance effectively. This training should includetechniques for resolving conflicts that may arise regarding religious differences andfacilitating positive interactions between students. and Students are advised toactively communicate with teachers regarding the needs and challenges they face.Expressing questions openly will help teachers provide more appropriate guidance.
