Abstract

So far, science learning still experiences various obstacles due to the use of conventional learning models and science learning objectives only focus on teaching materials that contain information about nature and the surrounding environment. The problems above need to be addressed immediately through innovations carried out by teachers in science learning in elementary schools. One innovation that can be carried out is through the use of contextual teaching learning models. The objectives of conducting this research are: 1) To determine the influence of the contextual teaching learning model on the creativity of class IV students at UPTD Karang Leman Tragah Bangkalan, and 2) To determine the effect of the contextual teaching learning model on the independence of class IV students at UPTD Karang Leman Tragah Bangkalan. Researchers use a quantitative research approach and the type of research used is experimental research. The population of this study was class IV students at UPTD Karang Leman, totaling 42 people. All members of the population were sampled using a saturated sampling technique. So the sample for this study was 42 students, consisting of 21 students in class IV-A as the control group and 21 students in class IV-B as the experimental group. Researchers developed creativity assessment sheet instruments and independent observation sheets to collect research data. Data obtained using research instruments were analyzed using the independent sample t test analysis technique. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that: 1) There is an influence of the contextual teaching learning model on student creativity in science energy material class IV UPTD Karang Leman Tragah Bangkalan, and 2) There is an influence of the contextual teaching learning model on student independence in science energy material class IV UPTD Karang Leman Tragah Bangkalan.
