Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of student interest in mathematics. Students consider math to be a difficult subject. In addition, students often feel bored and bored when teachers explain math subjects in class. Students become less focused on the subjects taught by the teacher. For this reason, it is necessary to implement the use of teaching aids to foster students' interest in learning in mathematics subjects. This research uses a qualitative approach, which is research carried out to produce descriptive data in the form of writing, oral and behavior of the subject under study. The results of this research are the use of teaching aids to foster students' interest in learning in class III mathematics subjects through stages, namely, preparing material, preparing props according to the material, assigning students, demonstrating props, and ending with a discussion forum. With these stages you can make: a) Students are more interested in the use of teaching aids, (b) Students are more focused when the teacher presents the material, c) Students are more enthusiastic about asking questions, d) Students become more creative when making props, e) Students become more active in the classroom, f) The interaction between teachers and students increases.
