Abstract

This research aims to develop contextual-based video media as a means of learning energy source material for class IV students at SDN 013 Teluk Piyai. The media development method involves the stages of needs analysys, content design, production and evaluation of video media. The research subjects consisted of 10 class IV students who received learning using video media. The research results show that contextual-based video media is effective in increasing students’ understanding of energy sources material. Students’ comprehension scores inreased significantly after using the video media. The implication of the research is that contextual-based video media can be an effective alternative in improvingg student learning regarding energy sources, especially for class IV students at SDN 013 Teluk Piyai.
