Abstract

The research aims to describe the value of character education of learners in Primary 25 Panaikang Regency Bantaeng that has been implemented (integrated), the implementation of Integrating the value of character education in Indonesian language and literature learning as an effort to mental development of learners in Primary 25 Panaikang Regency Bantaeng, and the obstacles experienced by Indonesian language and literature teachers in integrating the value of character education in Primary School 25 Panaikang Regency Bantaeng. This study is a qualitative study designed using qualitative descriptive methods. The subjects in this study were the entire students of Primary 25 Panaikang of Bantaeng Regency. Data collection techniques used are interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The data that has been collected is analyzed using techniques of data reduction, data presentation (data display), and verifiing/drawing conclusions. The results of this study concluded that (1) the value of character education of students in SDN 25 Panaikang Kabupaten Bantaeng Regency is not fully implemented or well integrated; (2) in general, the value of character education is well integrated in the implementation of Indonesian language and literature learning in SDN 25 Panaikang Kabupaten Bantaeng, but there is still one character value that is not integrated at all in the implementation of Indonesian language and literature learning, namely the character value of social care; and (3) barriers experienced by language teachers and Indonesian literature in integrating character education in schools is a lack of high self-awareness for learners of the importance of character values, a lack of parental attention and support for the importance of building students' character at home, and a lack of teacher creativity in developing a learning medium made possible by time, mind, and energy limitations.
