Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the STEM-Integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the students' critical thinking skills in the Natural Sciences subject and to understand the impact that the STEM-Integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) has on the students' critical thinking skills.Data collection in this research was performed using test instruments in the form of essay questions that were given at the beginning and at the end of class. Data analysis was performed based on the quantitative data, i.e., by calculating the average score of the respective pre-test and post-test, performing normality test, homogeneity test, and one sample T-test test to assess whether the average score of the respective pre-test and post-test have a significant difference with the SPSS 23-assisted one sample T-test technique.The results of this research: 1) students’ critical thinking skills before using the STEM-integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model have an average score of 46.45 2) students’ critical thinking skills after using the STEM-integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model have an average score of 72.92 3) The results of data analysis of one sample T-test using the one sample T-test technique gave a calculated t result of 18.940 > 1.860 table and a significance value that is < 0,05 (0,001 < 0,05). Therefore, it can be inferred that there is an impact on the critical thinking skills of SD Negeri Banjarharjo’s 6th-grade students by using the STEM-integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model.
