Abstract

The aim of this research is to overcome the following problems: First, before using the Discovery Learning model, describe the level of explanatory text writing skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Temon. Second, to describe the level of explanatory text writing skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Temon after using the Discovery Learning model. Third, analyze the impact of using the Discovery Learning model on the level of explanatory text writing skills of class VI students at SD Negeri Temon. This research uses quantitative research using experimental methods. The design of this research is one group pretest and posttest design. There are three conclusions that can be drawn from the research results: First, before using the Discovery Learning model, the ability to write explanatory text for class VI students at SD Negeri Temon was at more than sufficient qualifications (LdC) with an average of 68,55. Second, the skills in writing explanatory texts after using the Discovery Learning model for class VI students at SD Negeri Temon are in good qualifications (B) with an average of 79,92.
