Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of reading comprehension in multiliteracy learning of SDN Candiyasan students. This study aims to describe the ability to reading comprehension in multiliteracy learning for sixth grade students of SDN Candiyasan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method, data collection through tests, interviews, and observations at SDN Candiyasan in August-October. Data Analysis is used with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The subjects of the study were five sixth-graders, five parents, teachers and the principal. The result of literal understanding (C1) is 55,8%, infensial (C2,C3) is 45%, critical (C4,C5) is 47,5%, and creative (C6) 50%, final test score is 52,5%. The results of the interviews indicate that students find joy in multiliteracy learning, acquire new knowledge, and are proficient in using technology. Challenges arose due to family economic factors and the insufficient readiness of teachers in implementing multiliteracy education. The proposed solution involves strengthening collaboration among students, parents, and the school in monitoring and providing reading materials tailored to the students' interests. It also encourages teachers to continuously practice and enhance their skills in managing multiliteracy education.
