Abstract

This academic article discusses the understanding of motivation among elementary education major students through a qualitative approach. The research aims to explore the motivation of students in choosing elementary education as their major and the factors influencing their motivation. The research method used involved in-depth interviews with 10 elementary education major students. The research findings indicate that the motivation of elementary education major students is influenced by their personal values and interests in the field of child education, inspiring personal experiences, and the aspiration to make a positive contribution to society through their profession as teachers. This research provides a profound understanding of the motivation of elementary education major students and its implications in curriculum development and educational programs.
