Abstract

This study aims to investigate increasing student achievement in science subjects by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model at SDN 1 Ngindeng, class IV, in the 2022/2023 school year. The research method used is classroom action research with two cycles. The research participants were 11 grade IV students. In the first cycle, learning was carried out without PBL intervention, while in the second cycle, PBL was applied in science learning. Data collection techniques used include tests, observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the application of the PBL model in science learning has a positive impact on increasing students' understanding and their learning achievement. This increase can be seen from the test results which showed a significant increase in scores in the second cycle. In addition, students are also able to relate Science Science material to everyday life properly. In conclusion, it was found that the application of the PBL model in science learning was effective in increasing student achievement in the science subject at SDN 1 Ngindeng.
