Abstract

The importance of understanding natural disasters Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods or volcanic eruptions can have a serious impact on society. Therefore, it is important for students to understand basic concepts and knowledge about natural disasters, including how to identify, prevent and respond to them. Education about natural disasters can help students be better prepared and reduce their risks in dealing with emergency situations. Cooperative learning type TGT is introduced as an interesting and effective approach to help students understand and apply knowledge about natural disasters. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in learning outcomes for natural disaster material for fifth grade students at SDN 2 Grogol Sawoo. The research method that can be used in this study is an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. This method will allow researchers to compare student learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the TGT cooperative learning method. The control group pretest-posttest design will involve two groups of students, the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group will receive the TGT type of cooperative learning method, while the control group will receive ordinary learning that is usually done at school. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the TGT learning method can increase student activity during learning. This is indicated by a change in student attitudes in learning activities. These changes include interaction and collaboration between students and between students and teachers getting better. Students increasingly have the courage to argue and express ideas during the learning process. Learning is no longer centered on the teacher. The role of the teacher is limited to that of a facilitator and evaluator. Students are required to actively seek information and must be able to exchange ideas.
