KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MENURUT TEORI WANKAT DAN OREOVOCZ DITINJAU DARI KECERDASAN LOGIS MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 1 SUKAMULIA TAHUN AJARAN 2023/2024

This research aims to find out how students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are based on Wankat and Oreovocz’ s in solving flat-sided geometric problems in terms of mathematical logical intelligence. This type of research is qualitative research. The research subjects were 6 students in class VIII B of SMPN 1 Sukamulia for the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 2 in the low category, 2 students in the medium category, and 2 students in the high category. Data collection techniques in this research are test, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. Based on the research results, it was found that (i) students with low mathematical logical intelligence have low problem solving abilities because they are able to go through a maximum of four stages according to Wankat and Oreovocz (TWO) theory, namely I can, define, explore and plan. (ii) students with medium mathematical logical intelligence have medium problem solving abilities because they are able to go through a maximum of five stages according to TWO, namely I can, define, explore, plan, and do it. (iii) students with high mathematical logical intelligence have high problem solving abilities because they are able to go through all stages according to TWO, namely I can, define, explore, plan, do it, check, generalize.Downloads
