This research aims to explore the transformational leadership of school principals. This study uses qualitative research methods with a focus on descriptive data in the form of written texts that are analyzed. This research examines the concept of transformational leadership, principles, characteristics and dimensions of transformational leadership. Apart from that, this research also discusses the role of transformational leadership of school principals. The research results show that the principal's transformational leadership is leadership that involves changes in the school organization. The principal's transformational leadership also concerns the principal's ability to motivate the human resources in the school to be willing to work for high-level goals that are considered to be beyond their personal interests. The principal's transformational leadership includes developing a closer relationship between the principal and human resources in the school, not just an agreement, but more based on mutual trust and commitment for the benefit of the school. Transformational leadership is an effective leadership style for bringing about positive change and lead the organization to success. Transformational leaders have unique characteristics and dimensions that enable them to motivate, empower, and inspire followers to achieve higher shared goals. The positive impact of transformational leadership on organizations has been proven through various research and theories. Therefore, organizations that want to achieve long-term success need to develop transformational leaders.Downloads
