Abstract

Students are one of the nation's assets, because they will become the next generation to replace the older generation. To be a good and qualified next generation, you need to have good and correct character. Good character will grow if there are good habits too. Good habits can be applied in the school environment as a place to study. So that good habits can be realized, teachers and schools should apply positive discipline to students. Looking at cases of violence by teachers for disciplinary reasons, it is hoped that this research will provide a new picture of discipline patterns that do not use violence. This research aims to analyze the application of positive disciplinary character to first grade students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were grade 1 students at SDN Muntilan. The data collection techniques for this research are observation, interviews and documentation. Researchers made observations from August to November, and conducted interviews with research subjects. The data was processed using the positive discipline theory of analysis from the researcher. Researchers tested whether the implementation could be well received by students or not, researchers distributed questionnaires to see responses from class 1B students. The researcher asked questions about "Have students complied with the applicable regulations?" as many as 90% answered that they had complied. 10% have not, the researchers looked at the results of observations and interviews with research subjects, seeing that there were factors within the students that made them unable to obey the rules. The data obtained for students who were able to comply with the regulations showed more than 50%. So it can be concluded that the implementation carried out by grade 1 teachers is able to help students have a disciplined attitude.
