Abstract

The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 requires curriculum innovation that suits the times. The Merdeka Curriculum provides wider opportunities in the effort to develop the character of Pancasila students. If Pancasila character education is well integrated in learning, students can achieve meaningful knowledge, skills, attitudes/character and life-skills competencies. The implementation of the PjBL model has the potential to meet the demands of learning objectives including the implementation of character education for students. Elementary social studies material about the characteristics of ASEAN countries is suitable to be taught with the PjBL model which can also be used to instill the character of Pancasila students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data obtained from observations and interviews were analyzed in accordance with relevant theoretical studies. The analysis technique used is an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The research subjects are grade VI students of SDN Sidoluhur with a total of 16 students who have implemented the second choice of Merdeka Curriculum, namely Independent Change. The results showed that the project-based learning model on social studies learning material on the characteristics of ASEAN countries has a strong relationship in the formation of Pancasila learner profile characters in elementary school students. The implementation of PjBL on the material characteristics of ASEAN countries can realize the six dimensions of the Pancasila student profile, namely: faith, fear of God Almighty, and noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, and creativity. This research is expected to be a reference for educational actors in creating innovative learning to realize the goals of national education, namely forming a generation with Pancasila character.
