Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the tournament game learning model on the interest and results of learning mathematics in grade 5 students at SDN Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin 2 Oku Timur. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a control class and experimental class design. The population of this research is SDN 20 Martapura. With the purposive sampling technique, 30 students could be used as the experimental class and 30 35 students as the control class. the treatment was given 6 times and at the end of the meeting the students were given a test which totaled 18 multiple choice and six descriptions then the students filled out the interest in learning instrument totaling 35 questions then the students' instruments from both classes were analyzed using statistical methods using SPSS 21. The results of data analysis showed that there were differences significantly between the control class and the experimental class. TGT learning media has a slightly significant impact on improving student learning outcomes. Judging from the oil, high and low students are able to influence the increase in learning outcomes of students who are assisted by learning models. The implication of this research is that teachers are expected to be able to choose media and learning strategies that are tailored to the environmental needs of students and the material to be delivered.
