Abstract

Students are less interested in participating in science learning activities at the end of class hours. Science material that is abstract is considered difficult if it is not associated with the experiences of students in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning interest of students using the teams games tournament (TGT) model with a culturally responsive teaching (CRT) approach. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. This research was conducted in March 2024 at UPTD SMPN 1 Bangkalan. The sample used was class VII-C with a total of 32 students. The results of the research conducted show that: 1) The percentage of students' interest level in learning in high criteria is 43.75%, in medium criteria is 56.25%, and in low criteria is 0%. 2) The average percentage of students' interest in learning was 76.05% with high criteria. These results indicate that the use of the teams games tournament (TGT) model with a culturally responsive teaching (CRT) approach can increase students' interest in learning at the end of class hours.
