Abstrak

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematical connections the student. To overcome these problems teachers need to create learning innovative and directly involve students. One of them is learning mathematics using a tool-assisted 5e learning cycle model visual aid. This study aims to determine the increase in ability better mathematical connections between students who get the model learning cycle 5e assisted with teaching aids compared to students who obtain conventional learning, and to determine student attitudes towards learning mathematics using the learning cycle 5e model assisted with props. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental method. The population in this study were all students class VIII SMPN 1 Situraja consisting of nine classes with samples the study was conducted randomly class so that two classes were selected, namely class VIII-F as an experimental class of 29 students and class VIII-I as a class control of 29 students. The instrument used was a test of ability mathematical connections and student attitude questionnaire. Based on data processing using a significance level of 5%, it can be concluded that the increase mathematical connection skills of students who obtain the learning cycle model 5e Assisted teaching aids are better than students who obtain conventional model. As well as positive student attitudes towards the learning cycle 5e model assisted with props.
