Abstract

This research started with the discovery of the results of PTS IPA as many as 12 people who were in class IV SDS Tunas Elok, there were 9 people getting scores below the minimum completeness criterion standard (KKM) of 65. In addition, various problems were found during teaching and learning activities that were not optimal. The purpose of this research was to determine the increase in student learning outcomes in class IV science subjects at SDS Tunas Elok with the talking stick learning model. The materials used are natural resources. The research method used was classroom action research which consisted of two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews and tests while the data analysis techniques used are descriptive and comparative. In the first cycle, the science learning outcomes obtained were 33,3% with an average score of 54, some problems were still found during learning and there were 7 students whose grades were below standard so they had to be corrected again in cycle II. Meanwhile, in cycle II the science learning outcomes obtained were 91,7% with an average score of 78, learning was also in accordance with the lesson plan and only one person whose score was below standard. This shows that there was an increase experienced during research using the model cooperative talking stick type in science subjects in class IV SDS Tunas Elok.
