PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA NILAI TEMPAT BILANGAN CACAH MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA SISWA KELAS 1 SDN PATIHAN KOTA MADIUN

Understanding mathematical concepts is something that is very important for students to be able to solve a problem properly and correctly. In this case students are still low in understanding mathematical concepts, so that in solving a problem in mathematics questions students find it difficult and produce scores that are still below the KKM, due to the inappropriate selection of learning models. The purpose of this research is to increase the understanding of mathematical concepts in the place value of whole numbers in grade 1 students at SDN Patihan Madiun City. This type of research is classroom action research conducted at SDN Patihan Madiun City with a total of 15 students as subjects. The data collection technique for this research was by observing, documenting, and testing math questions on the place value material for whole numbers. The results showed that the Problem Based Learning model could improve the understanding of mathematical concepts in grade 1 students at SDN Patihan Madiun City, namely in the pre-cycle the completeness of understanding mathematical concepts was still 47%, then it increased in cycle 1 to 67%, in cycle 2 to 73%, and in cycle 3 it increased to 87%. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it is very important to apply the problem-based learning model in the learning process so that students have a good and increasing understanding of mathematical concepts.Downloads
