Abstract

This study aims to investigate the increase in thematic learning outcomes through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model based on Criss-Cross Puzzle media to class III students at SDN Banjarpanjang I in the 2022/2023 academic year. The research method used is classroom action research with two cycles. The research sample consisted of 8 grade III students who were selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected through learning achievement tests and observations. The results showed that the application of the PBL learning model based on Criss-Cross Puzzle media was effective in increasing students' ability to integrate thematic learning materials. In cycle I, 5 out of 8 students showed good ability in connecting material with questions in Criss-Cross Puzzle. In cycle II, all students were successful in answering and linking the relationship between the material and the questions in the Criss-Cross Puzzle, indicating an increase in students' integrative understanding. This study shows that the use of PBL learning models based on Criss-Cross Puzzle media can make a positive contribution in improving student learning outcomes in thematic learning contexts.
