Abstract

Implementation of learning that tends to be monotonous without regard to student active participation is one of the causes of low students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the application of Inquiry-based Student Worksheets (LKS) in improving the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD 1 Kandangmas. This research method is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the research design of the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which are carried out in two cycles. The subjects in this study were teachers and fifth grade students at SD 1 Kandangmas. Data collection techniques were carried out by tests, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis in this study consisted of quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the first cycle obtained an average score of 74.2 with a classical completeness percentage of 62% which is classified as high criteria. Then in cycle II it experienced an increase reaching an average value of 81.3 with a completeness percentage of 85% which was classified as a very high criterion. Thus, the application of Inquiry-based Student Worksheets (LKS) can improve the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD 1 Kandangmas.
