Abstract

The principal is a teacher who is given the task of leading and managing an education unit. One of the main tasks of the principal is to supervise. This study aims to find out the description of the implementation of the supervision of the Principal in Elementary Schools. Principal supervision aims to assist teachers in improving their performance. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through: observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were school principals and elementary school teachers. The results of the study show that the implementation of the academic supervision of elementary school principals includes; (1) the purpose of supervision; (2) stages of supervision (planning, implementation and follow-up); (3) supervision program; (4) supervision strategy; (5) supervision instruments.
