PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN MAKE A MATCH TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS IV SDS KARUNA SINGKAWANG

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) To find out the difference between reading skills between experimental classes and control classes; 2) To know how much the influence of learning models make a match on understanding reading skills. The research was conducted at SDS Karuna Singkawang. This type of research is quantitative research using quasi-experimental research methods, in the form of Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study is the total of students of class IV SDS Karuna Singkawang school year 2024/2025 which is 94 students, i.e. 31 IVA students, 31 IVB students and 32 IVC students. Samples are taken using non-probabiltiy sampling techniques. The data collection technique uses a test sheet of learning results with a filling form containing 10 questions. Data analysis techniques using the Independent Sample T-Test, and the Effect Size test. Students who are given a learning model make a match higher or equal to students who are using live or conventional learning which means having a difference in the ability to read students' understanding. After being calculated with the Independent sample T-test obtained sig (2-tailed) 0.001 < 0.05 then Ha accepted and Ho rejected. 2) The Make A Match learning model has a high influence on the ability of students to read and understand on the experimental class that obtains the learning treatment of Make a Match with the effect size test result of 0.923 high criteria. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the learning model of Make A match on the reading and understanding ability of the students of Class IV SDS Karuna Singkawang.
