PENGUATAN CIVIC DISPOSITION DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN WAWASAN KEBANGSAAN PESERTA DIDIK DI SMP NEGERI 21 AMBON

This study aims to analyze efforts to strengthen civic disposition in developing national insight through the Civic Education subject at SMP Negeri 21 Ambon. The primary issue identified is the lack of understanding and awareness among students regarding the importance of civic disposition. Most students focus more on academic achievement and often overlook learning about citizenship values in society. However, public character traits such as social responsibility, tolerance, and active participation are crucial elements of civic disposition in shaping students' character. In this study, group discussions and extracurricular activities, such as disaster relief fundraising, are identified as effective methods for strengthening civic disposition. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data collection was carried out through observations and interviews with teachers and students. The research results indicate that disaster relief fundraising activities have a significant impact on developing students' national insight. This study also confirms that integrating civic disposition into civic education subjects and extracurricular activities can reinforce students' sense of nationalism and solidarity. Furthermore, these social service activities are also effective in fostering an inclusive attitude, appreciating diversity, and strengthening students' understanding of citizenship values through direct community experiences. The study recommends the importance of active learning through civic education by increasing community-based projects that involve students in real activities outside the classroom.Downloads
