Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is an influence on students' reading literacy in using grade 3 picture story books at UPTD SDN Karang Asem. The problems that exist in schools can be seen that in class 3 Indonesian language learning they still use theme books or thematic books so it is difficult for children who are not fluent in reading to understand the material and feel bored reading books. The research method uses quantitative with the research design used is a pre-Experimental Designs design. The sample used by grade 3 students was 21 students in total. The instruments used are students' reading literacy tests (questionnaires), while the analysis tests are validity tests, reliability tests and paired sample t-tests with the help of the IBM SPSS v21.0 application. This is proven by using picture story books on students' reading literacy, obtaining a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.008 < 0.05, which states that there is a difference in students' reading levels using picture story books.
