Abstract

Based on observations at SDN Pancoran 07 Pagi, mathematics learning at the school is less interactive, because the learning model used in the classroom is still conventional which is considered less effective because there are still some students who are less active during the learning process in the classroom. This research aims to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament learning model on third grade students' critical thinking abilities in mathematics. This research uses a True Experimental quantitative method with a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was 84 class III students. The sample for this research was 55 people determined through simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in this research are tests and non-tests, where the test instruments are critical thinking skills, the non-tests are observations and student documentation. Data collection techniques in this research used the t-test. This is reflected in the t-test results which have a significant value of 0.000<0.05 so the results are significant. Based on the results of the t-test, the use of the TGT learning model has an influence on the critical thinking abilities of class III students.
