Abstract

Education is one of the factors in determining the quality of a nation. Various efforts have been made to improve the quality of education in schools, such as learning innovations. Teacher has an important role during the learning process. Therefore, this research aims to describe the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by puzzle in learning Pancasila Education in elementary schools. The research used qualitative method in the form of library research. The data collection technique used was documentation study with analysis of the contents of documents relevant to the study. The data sources were various books and articles. The research found that PBL model assisted by puzzle enables the students to develop the character of being persistent, patient, and respectful of other's opinions. Additionally, students' numeracy and literacy skills develop when assembling patterns of puzzle pieces and interpreting the images. In addition, it develops 21st century skills, namely critical and creative thinking, as well as collaborative and communicative competences.
