Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of memorizing the holy Qur’an on students’ memory from a neuroscience perspective. Memorizing the holy Qur’an, an integral part of Islamic religious education in Indonesia, is believed to have a positive impact on the brain development of students. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods and Library Research. The research process is carried out through library data collection activities, reading, noting, and analyzing data. The sample used is students with a total of 30 people, including 10 people who do not memorize the holy Qur’an less than 1 juz, 10 people memorize the holy Qur’an with a range of 2-5 juz, and 10 people by memorizing the holy Qur’an more than 10 juz. Memorizing the holy Qur’an has a significant effect on memory. This means that students who memorize the holy Qur’an more have a greater memory.
